I am starting some relatively short term planning of a conceptually applicable millennium machine. The cruxes of my project will revolve around this, M-6010-A96. An aluminum 460 siamese bore block. I will be getting in touch with Raceparts Distribution in a week, but I wanted to know if you guys have had any experience thus far with this behemoth. Also does anyone know the going price and how much prep work is already done to it (out of the crate)?
Thanx for any info.

From what I understand, most bare blocks are not finished "ready to go". I believe they all need a final hone on the mains and I don't think any have cam bearings installed. I doubt anything has been done to the cylinder bores as they have no idea how far you're wanting to bore it out. I would talk to someone who has extensive knowledge of using such pieces, ie. a respected engine builder. Jon Kaase, Keith Craft, Engine Systems & Kuntz & Co. all come to mind when dealing with BBF's, but they're all in Georgia and Arkansas. Joe Sherman and John Beck come to mind on the left coast, though neither are Ford Specialists, I think I'd truct either of them.
