Am I crazy?

Well, the 'vette only has 50 more hp, and with the 'o6 'stang, you won't have to worry about paying $250 plus for each tire, you can actually carry people and/or luggage, and your insurance will probably be lower.

it you vette is still in good condition and you got some performance parts or some kit on it, then no don't do it, just save money and wait for the 2009 stang or 2009 camaro... i would do that. i love my 05 gt thou :D

01 vette is faster yes, but these GT's have A LOT of potential power from just a few simple bolt-ons. i love having a "New-Car" so the difference in cost from insurance and maintenence you could invest into the GT and im sure it could hang with your vette or at least pretty close. but im sure it would be hard to let go of a corvette for a mustang, but hey itd be a vert at least.

Good question. My daughter is about to turn 16 and is getting my 2000 V6 Convertible. I really really like the new Mustang body style, but I've always wanted a Corvette Convertible, so I 've been looking. It's not really about speed for me, it's about a different style. My wife loves the looks of the new GT Convertible, so I'm a bit torn as well. I will say the GT sounds a lot better.

2000 White Vert

Have you checked the cost of insurance for a 16-year-old driving a Mustang let alone a convertible? My insurance agent flat said no when my daughter was that age. He wouldn't even price it. I checked a few other places and was surprised at the cost.

yes, im 16. its 135/mo for the gt. 15/mo cheeper for the v6.. thats the quote for the coupe. i believe its about 5-10/mo more for the convert. its negligable in the scheme of things. the car has a 5 star safety rating which makes its risk number thingy like a 26-27. at least when i looked it up about 8 months ago...
