Ok so I finally replaced the lifters and that fixed that and when i went for a test drive it felt like the timing was way off but i found out it was misfiring Bad:( I was running it at night and I saw little sparks jumping from the #8 plug wire hitting the header where it had burnt. I taped that up temporarily and it is also sparking at my MSD coil, from the inner of the outer metal piece to the inner red magnet thing. I tried and tape that up the best i could and that fixed them. Its alot better now but its sparking somewhere else, I cant see it this time but i can hear it from around cylinder #7 or #8. Besides that it was running like szhit before which has happed about 4 times before. Same thing happened to i think Darkwriter, and Hissin said it works good next time since the comp. goes into a failsafe mode or something. When i came back after the quick test drive from the lifters my fuel pump and my battery went at the same time :bs: I changed the lifters, battery, Holley fuel pump, all new gaskets etc. within like 2 days. Besides from the crazy 65 degree timing i have and the annoying ass bucking and now the funny starter noise when starting and also that i also need a new coil, i guess everything is ok :nonono: Sorry just venting of course i could just buy everything all new but I cant get my job until i get my car running good. I think my car hates it down here in Tn or something, i dont like it here either though. She ran like mint when i was back in Nj.

Sorry to hear that bud. Hey, I saw my name in there. I know I type a lot and fast, so it can be hard to follow, but whatever I was talking about does not sound familiar (I dont often mention the term 'safemode', as it is not something that occurs too often). If you can provide more info, maybe I can clear up the ambigiuty. :nice:

In regard to the rest, I dont have an MSD coil but that does not sound right. The core should not be scattering electricity that bad IMHO (it can be normal to see a hue of general light around a high-output coil, but not direct sparking). Your plan for swapping on another coil sounds good.

Make sure you plug wires ohm out ok too.

As an aside, Autozone used to sell coils for 15 bucks, if you need something cheap. A couple guys run that coil and say it works ok. It is a cheap coil till a higher output one can be had.

Good luck man.

Thanks I will be ohming them out in a few minutes and looking them over real good. Ill prob end up getting a stock coil for now. As for the safe mode thing, it might have been Jricker, I just remember it was one of the electrical gurus on here :nice: I was saying how it was running like crap, wouldnt idle for anything , i had to keep revving it, had a loss of power but after it sat like 5 minutes it ran like normal :shrug: also it had very low vacuum only then and on the bottom of the surge that it had the vacuum would leap down to like 5in. of vaccum and idle at maybe 15in, but when it runs normally its at about 17in. at idle, i forget the exact number i just remember it was 2 inches lower than it normally had maybe it was 13 and normally 15 but one of them. whoever said it they said it runs good after because the computer goes into a safe mode after it is shut downi think. Ill try looking for the post.

atleast you have that killer tubular gt 40 intake.......

Thanks but right now I would probably give it up right now just so my car would run right:( I just ohmed all my wires and heres what i got (all on 20k) from plug end of the wire to inside of the cap.
1.=1.88
2.=1.94
3.=2.37
4.=2.73
5.=1.81
6.=2.20
7.=2.62
8.=2.69
coil=9.70

the one that has 9.70 isnt a Ford Racing wire, the original one took a dump so i had to throw on a stock wire i had laying around. I dont use it for the coil wire though, i regualarly had it on #5 cylinder or something besides the coil so only one cylinder might get low voltage instead of all 8. I might check the plugs since i took them out when i did my lifters, maybe i cracked one or something:shrug: Pretty cool though, when i saw the spark jumping, it was a bunch of multiple sparks not just one from my msd.
