This is kind of a rant thread.
It seems every kind of part that i buy for the stang doesnt work correctly. Even when i buy them brand new never used. Heres a list of what has been defective even though everything was purchased brand new.

Autometer tach- installed and nothing happend. Had to send back to Jegs and get a new one. Installed it and all was good with the second one.

3G Alt- Installed it and the insides came apart within 10 miles. Had to get another one sent to me and it still isnt right. It gets very hot, and will probably burn itself out. All wiring is correct and triple checked.

-TCI trans pan- Installed it and filled trans with fluid only to have it all leak out on the garage floor because of a minor crack in the casting. Didnt bother to send it back, just drilled out and welded up the crack.

-Valvebody- everything is spot on except i have no overdrive..nothing at all...will have to send it back for another one.

-Nitrous bottle nipple- ordered a new one because the old one was stripped out. Put it on and was tightening it up and it cracked in half. I didnt even put much pressure on it.

Anyways, its so annoying that i have to do all the work twice, sometimes even three times before its correct. Doesnt anyone make a quality product that works the first time!?!? Shipping is really a hastle and i have to end up paying for it twice.

Anyone else have this crappy luck? Or is it just me?

youre not alone man

my radiator has a pin-hole leak in it...directly in line with the fan. whether in the city (fan on) or on the highway (greater windspeed), the radiator pisses coolant ALL OVER EVERYTHING. the front half of my motor is green.

the ass end of my car is starting to get some moderate rust.

it eats front tires

the lifters tick on cold startup and it wont idle at 1300 like its supposed to

the brakes are shot

need new shocks and struts. struts are bent. shocks are leaking

i appear to have a 4 cyl steering rack because my steering feel is really light.

and i just found out i have a cracked windshield!

dude dont even get me started, I own a mustang its a problem ...

your not even close to having bad luck , Ive split motors in half, snapped the nose of my crank shaft. Launched a trans, the list goes on. but (and I dont know how old you are) the older you get the less you care, or at least in my case. you just learn the life sux and nothing ever works out as planned. If you want something worry free, buy a new car

I have had some problems but I hope I'm done with that crap. I have over $2,000 worth of parts in my cellar awaiting install, 3g alt, heads, intake, wp,H- Balancer, headers, TB, MAF, etc, etc. I won't be in the mood for any that send stuff back dumb ***** . I think quality has gone down, prices have gone up, and customer service is lacking more and more. plus that little made in china sticker on the box doesn't help either .

I hear ya on the customer service! I just called Blue Oval Industries cause I had ordered a Throttle Body from them online last night. I called in to make sure they got the order and to see when it would be shipped out. Hell, I wouldn't of normally called but I'm partially stranded 1200 miles away from home cause my throttle plate shaft snapped in two. (JB weld FTW) The guy says " Ya know, I wish you guys would stop callin so we can get our work done." It's great that someone actually answered the phone, but if you don't want people calling then don't post your phone # all over the web site, or atleast get an automated system that can filter calls.

Engine rebuilt with less than 5,000 miles, oil pouring out of every place it can, builder will not return calls.

I can't drive it cause of the smoke pouring off the exhaust.

Car was repainted in 2006, one month later a piece of drywall flew off a truck and hit the hood, bent the antenna and scratched the new windshield. One month later a shutter flew off the house during a storm and hit the car, while the car cover was still on order.

Now on #6 water pump in less than 5 months

BBK cermaic headers are rusting after 2 years, BBK H-Pipe has a broken cat that rattles.

No, you are not the only one with bad luck. Also the reason I parked the money pit (as my wife calls it)

I bought some lowering springs off this crack head and they turned out to be vert springs so I sold them for exactly what I paid for them plus I got the person to pay shipping.

Ill never buy parts from a crack head again...

my first car had so many problems it wasnt even funny. i estimated i spent 3 grand in 3 weeks and it still wasnt right. then the day i finally took it to ford and said fix everything ($1750) i was on the way home and totaled it.

bought a new fox and have had brand new parts fail on me multiple times. even my 3G has been replaced twice. PA performance 200 amp units to boot. then when i finally got it right it the engine caught on fire and ruined my wire harness.

then while i was pulling my motor the hoist straps broke and it fell and somehow went forwards and lodged it self in between my sway bar and dirt (crank pulley had dirt in it) and the top of the core support hit my dizzy and broke it off.

At least all your bad luck is with your car. Try having brain surgery at 24 years old

Seriously though, such is the life of a car guy. When you go beyond the factory setup, you're inviting problems.

h no im cursed with health problems to. i hd ulcerative colitus at 18 and had to have my entire large intestine removed. and they did a thing called a loop illiostomy where they took my small intestine and cut a foot long or so incision in it and kept doubling it back until they made a fake colon out of it. it works but sometimes i have complications. i had to wear a colostomy bag for 6 months. that sucked major balls.

and my car was my DD when i wrecked it.

Damn dude, we're like curse buddy's

I had my appendix burst when i was 15, i had Shingles when i was 19, broke both wrists and my collar bone the same year, got a free car that blew the engine the very same day i got tags for it...then it was seizures and a brain biopsy due to Cranial TB when i was 23, then my fiance left me and took our kid a month after i got out of the hospital.

All that and i don't even drink. If it wasn't for hardcore music and horsepower i'd be insane by now.

I don't mean to sound negative but give it time, much worse will happen in your life. Just remember you walked away unharmed from the wreck and be thankful you're not in a wheelchair. If you're ever lucky enough to go into a surgery not knowing if you're going to wake up, you'll quickly realize that Mustangs are cool but there's SOOOOOO much more to life than the car you drive.
