Thanks to the Ford incentives ($1,500 rebates or 0% APR), lots of inventory and more dealers who are finally willing to give reasonable discounts on GTs, the Mustang had its highest sales for the month of August since 1979 !

17,933 Mustangs were sold in Aug 06, not as good as the 19,000+ sold in April & May 2005, but still a great sales month, especially for August.

As long as Ford keeps the Mustang price under control and keeps adding improvements like the 07 model has, sales of the S197 should hold up and 2006 sales may beat sales for 2005.

i saw a ford dealer in wyoming is still adding a "market adjustment" to their GTs. its hard to want to buy a car that still has dealer mark ups.

good to hear that the incentives are working!

Most inventory of 2006s is gone because of the 0 percent.

I picked up my '06 Vista Blue GT Premium this past Tuesday thanks to the 0/72 offer and even got it for $500 under invoice. Only option not in it was the 18" wheel package. Those I will be getting myself through tire rack in a few weeks though. I do love those fanblade wheels!!!!!

The 0% novelty continues to sell as it has for the past 5 years. It is what allowed me to trade out of aged and unreliable vehicles into two new 2004 Fords.
