Two guys out of thousands in just this forum have had an issue, many others from JUST THIS forum have said how good the service has been. The internet brings out the problems, issues and complainers.. they are the ones that post the most.. Very few times does the satisfied customer post up., “wow, I just bought x at y, they had it at the price advertised, in stock, and it fit as it was supposed to. “ So thousands of very satisfied customers have bought and installed parts from AM.. and just have not bothered to post the obvious.

1 user posted an issues, that AM tells a completely different story about (as I would expect, there is always at least two sides to every story)
1 other user posted up about how the FREE catalog from a US on line retailer was not free when shipped to a buyer outside the country… (id bet there is more to this story also, no flames at all intended,, just stating I’d bet there is more,,, from both sides)

It’s never if a company will make a mistake, it’s what they do about it after words.. Base on what the company rep posted in this thread,, I’d say, they did the right thing on this issue. Maybe not the best in the before column, but at least the after,,,

Be a consumer, vote with your $$$.. Me, I’ll buy from AM again,, no issues so far, great customer service, good price, and it was in stock, shipped next day after the order.

Hope it all works out for the user that started this thread,, I know how frustrating a stalled project can be while waiting on parts... I have two disassembled motors sitting on the bench waiting on seals I thought came with the "Complete engine overhaul gasket kit" I bought.. if I had known or been told, this particular company did not include seals in it’s complete kit, I could have bought them separate, or a different kit.

You are correct, vote with your $$$, and not another dime of mine will go to AM...

Actually, do a search on the internet, you will find more than 1 or 2 complaints on American Muslce/Mustang Tuning. I know that AM is a paid sponsor here and I also know that threads regarding problems with AM have been deleted in the past here at Stangnet. To the Mods and Admins.I am not talking about the two of mine that were deleted...

There is more problems out there than what is being posted here.

Well, we are in America. I am glad we all have the freedom of choice of where we want to buy and where we do not want to buy!

I cannot speak for Emilie on the Canada calendar issue, but if there was a way to get foreigners one for free I would be all for it. I am assuming the issue had to do with the government's import taxes and duties. I worked at a company in the past that had to ship equipment to their international offices all over the world and some countries taxed us exorbitantly even though we owned the equipment already...and they would tax it every time it crossed their boarder!

Once again, I cannot speak for the actions of any particular rep, but if anyone ever feels they were slated by one of our reps, please PM me and I will look into it. I will tell you that we strive to offer the best customer service possible and employees that do not care about their job or helping out the customers to their fullest extent (within all reason) have no future at our company.

PS - I have no power to delete or close threads. This is up to the moderators of this forum and I am sure if a thread was deleted or locked, it was some how violating the posted rules of this forum.

^I have had nothing but great experience with AM. Off course there are going to be some discrepincies out of the thousands of orders that AM.com has gone through. they easily have some of the best prices anywhere online.

Only thing i hate is when you order it and it isnt at your house the next day lol

depending on how the topic is brought up determines how it is moderated. if someone comes out right away just trash talking and slaming a company, it may be removed. in this case, no rules were broken. a customer had an issue, and stangnet members stayed within the rules to discuss it. sponsorship does not give someone a free pass here.

AM lost me as a customer over that Free Calendar scandal. Being a Canadian member of Stangnet, that Calendar was NOT free for us, I don't recall exactly what the charge was but it was outrageous. I refused to pay it as I was a previous customer of AM.

That Calender was free for Stangnet members, no where was it ever stated that it was free for Stangnet members who are from the US. I had an arguement with AMEmilie over that calendar crap.

Having said that, I am not surprised to see others having issues with AM. They showed how much they care about their customers with that Calendar crap...

I am surprised that this thread exists here and has not been deleted or locked...

I think you need to blame your goverment not AM. Anything that is imported into Canada from the US is subject to an import tax. Even if the product is free it is still taxed based on its value or assumed value.

In the last 4 years, I have imported well over $15,000.00 US of merchandise for my own personal use. These items price range is $5.00 - $9,800.00. On top of that, I do the paperwork for a friend of mine that sells used US cars in Canada. In the last 2 years, that has been worth around $260,000.00 US. I am quite familiar with the costs associated with importing into Canada as well as the procedures.

All AM had to do was put this Calendar in a large mail envelop, put a stamp on it and mark it as a gift. There would have been no duty or tax. It would have cost them at most $4.00( that is buying the stuff at retail at the post office ), reality under $2.50. It really is that simple for a item like a Calendar...
