Another cobra brake clearance thread...

Alright everyone claims you can’t fit 15” rims over cobra rear brakes without really expensive rear wheels or tons of positive offset. I am planning on upgrading the brakes on my LX and printed off some of the different templates that Baer has on their website for wheel fitment.

Here is a picture of the cobra template on my stock 15x7 4 lug phone dial rims, with TONS of room.

I just had to grind on the banjo bolt a little to clear my Bogarts. Took like 30mins. No problems.

I have some cheap Summit 15" steel rims and no clearance issue here.

Nah, if that was true you wouldn't be seeing so many Cobra's (especially the '03-'04 variety) running slicks at the track. It will vary on the exact wheels, but I doubt you'll have trouble with a 15".

I thought all the problems were with the FRONT calipers.

I believe you're right Paul. The front calipers don't clear less than a 17" wheel from everything I've always seen. They looked reasonably close to my 18" Y2K R wheels.
