I've been searching the forum for information on power steering problems, but nobody has addressed the exact problem I'm having.
I started noticing drops of P/S fluid on the floor of my garage a few weeks back. I didn't think much of it, but I just had to add a bit of fluid to the system, so I know it's leaking more than a few drops.
There is a leak in the rack, where the steering shaft enters the rack.
Is this a servicable seal, or am I looking at a new rack?
The steering is fine otherwise, so I'd like to keep the original rack if possible. This is just my daily driver, so I don't need anything fancy.
Also...anybody know if this seal will just go POOF soon, or do I have some time to check out my options? Also, are reman racks really that bad?
