I hate to post another thread, but my car is in the shop and I need some opinions on Stripes. I am having the CS/GT Front and Rear Bumpers installed along with a Eleanor Style Hood.

Since they are painting all three, the body shop recommended going ahead with painted stripes instead of vinyl stipes.

My big deal is I don't want to spend too much money on the stripes because I am already over budget on the 3 items plus paint work.

So here is my question, how would stripes down the hood, deck lid, and bumpers look, but not down the roof?

I probably should just have him paint the whole thing. Those that did do it, did you do 10" stripes with a 1" gap in between?

Thanks,
ApexStang

Well, I decided to go with the painted stripes. I am taking them from the bottom of the bumper, all the way over the roof, and down the rear bumper.

The cost is $800 for Vista Blue Stripes.

It's going to be sweet!

$800 is a great price, at least for around here it would be...are they going to clear over them? if so, $800 is a steal...glad you decided to go over the roof though, remember only Chevrolet's did the hood and trunk stripes...

Good point. The body shop said they are clearing it, sanding it down, painting it, then adding several coats of clear. If you are in the Raleigh area, Garner Collision is doing my work. I selected them based on some good feedback from other local Stang Enthusiasts!

I really hope it turns out nice. I'll post some pics as soon as I get it back.
