I'm chep..so carb

Mr Huey. It depends on the track.IhRA tracks are 11.49 for 6 points, and both, I believe for 8 cages. The track I went to was IHRA, but their insurance required a 6 point at 11.99. The 1/8, most tracks are 7.49 and faster for a sixer and 8 for 6.99

God she is ugly. When I decide to stop going fast, if ever, I may fix that.
Those were the 26 et streets. I moved out here and couldn't hook, so I got 28's, and still no luck. I just took it to the track with the roller perch mod everyone is talking about here and hooked with a litte bit of heat in the tires, and 28-30 psi in the tires.. No Jon Force burnout. The front is with the new perches, 90/10's,6 cyl springs and 15x3 weld prostars. Backs are summit adjustables, landrum springs, and home made adjustable traction bars.

Probably won't hit 10's with the current combo but it will be kind of close. Mild 408 windsor. Ran 11.50 last year spinning like heck yet. This year new tranny, converter, front 90-10 shocks, and got rid of the big block springs and put in 6 cyl springs. All these changes SHOULD get me down around the 11.30's and that is still with the et streets. Pics in my garage.

I think he is talking about having the roller perches. 6 cyl springs I just got them at my local bumper to bumper store. I would think napa or just about any place like that can get them. They are the moog brand 6 cyl with a.c.

Yeah, I was talking about the roller perches. You would benefit from them like you have no idea man. I just hooked at a track with barely any rubber on it and NO track prep what so ever with 28 psi in the tires. (It's in a parking lot of a stauim) I don't know what mine came from exactly escept a 68 mustang. Dunno if it had AC or not though. Bought them on ebay and picked them up locally...10 bucks. I am sure there are tons of people who have them here. Do a serach to see who has done V8 swaps, PM them and ask if they still have them.

I know I've seen the answer before and I have a pretty good idea but what does the 6 cylinder springs and roller perches do for you in drag racing? Also how does it handle on the street with the 6 cylinder springs and a v8?

Also what rear springs are you guys useing? I'm getting ready to get my cal tracs and saw something about them haveing springs as well anybody use them?

The 6 cyl springs are weaker than the 8 cyl. So the compress more, and have more stored energy. When when wieght is lifted, or pedal is touching the floor, it has more energy to release, or faster and higher to uncoil. the perches are great because the stock ones, ESPECIALLY new ones don't move much. So when the front tries to come up, and the a-arm should drop, it really can't. The perch is so stiff, it actually tries to rotate the top of the shock 12 oclock to say 3 oclock. This binds the shock and causes the front to slowly raise, and limits the front rise to the amount the perch is actually willing to move...which ain't much.
I love the 6cyl and 90/10 around town. Yes the front end comes up a little, more and more the harder you hit it. But still not bothersome. The perches made a world of difference in the way the suspension acts at the track and in town. Much more smotth. Thanks for the idea Jon.

Yep, but don't do that anymore. I do try to lift the front wheels infront of them. that usually does the trick. When it's some punk kid in a civic that doesn't know any better, he takes of as I sit still and flashed his hazards like he won. Then probably goes to a Honda board and claims his pipe added 100 hp bcause he smoked a old Mustnag with a cowl hood and et streets. Wuddaya gonna do though. I know what I have.
