just like it says, can you tell any difference if you remove the smog pump and go with just a pully.

I didn't notice any difference, I just didn't want the pump there anymore. They say it frees up power, but I doubt it. If it does, it is not enough to notice. I just didn't want something under the hood that was not in use. I went as far as to pull the entire system out. Hard lines and all............

They say it frees up 3-5hp, never seen a dyno sheet though.

It might not free-up much power, but you are eliminating quite a bit of weight on the front end. The pump alone must weigh between 10-15 lbs. (just a guess). That's worth a little right there.

Wish I could have afforded just doing dyno pulls after bypassing smog pump w/shorter belt, but I also did CAI and off road h pipe at the same time. Before and after: 216 to 240HP.

I'm sure that the smog and CAi helped, but the new midpipe gave you the most.

ive heard that it only frees up maybe 5 hp, probably more like 3... i never got it and the pump only weighs like 5 lbs... not heavy from what i remember when i had to install mine, thought of bypassing it, but not sure of how my car might run without it... when i go with the off-road H, im obviously not worried about the emmissions part of it, but will the car run different from what any of you know?

I just installed my UPR smog pump eliminator last week, I would highly recommend their products if you choose to do the delete. Others off of e-Bay need to be notched from what I have been told, where the UPR product came notched for the 94-95's. The main reason for deleting mine was to get rid of the annoying whine that my smog pump was making. There is not a noticeable change in HP, but it's worth doing if your are going to take off the rest of your smog pump lines and run an O/R h/x pipe. And don't worry about hurting the performance, removing this does absolutely nothing to the cars driveability. Make sure to cap off any vacuum lines with small screws or something else that fits in the lines.

Just use a shorter belt. You can remove everything and save some weight up front. Then, I used a pliers heated up with a torch and clamped off the vacuum lines. I can weigh everything and see how much when I get home.
