Who here rides the oregon or washington dunes? What do you ride? If theres enough people would you be interested in a stangnet dune trip?

I ride a z400/470 with a hotrods 5mill stroker crank and a 12-1 cp piston, yoshi cams and rs3 exhaust, kibblewhite valves, advantage cycle porting, 39mm fcr, and all the little odds and ends. Hoping for 50+ hp on pump gas! Check out the buildup here http://www.z400central.com/invision/index.php?showtopic=69334

Lets see what you got post some pics if you got um! Hopefully enough people will be interested in a get together.

I've got an 06 Yfz 450 with all the bolt on's, no motor work yet, it should be around 45-50hp from others I've seen dyno'd I usually ride at sandlake for day trips and plan week or weekend trips to winchester bay, I want to get down to coos bay and ride all 3 of the areas there eventually, I'd be down for a stangnet trip, just give me a few months notice for a weekend trip so I can get it off, day trips I can usually go every sunday

Thats weird. Ive got a ton of main jets here and a couple pilots, we can try a bunch of stuff once the weather gets nice if you want. How many turns out on the fuel screw are you?

EDIT* I didnt realize you are in Gresham. You should just bring it to Action Motorsports in Fairview and have them jet it with original Keihin jets, aftermarket jets dont usually correspond very well with the Keihins.

I have both the gtyr (yamaha) and a jd jet kit, and its doing it no matter wich jets I use... I played around with the fuel screw a bit and its doing it even when its screwed all the way in. I have a 45 pilot and a 168 main in right now, It's bogging really bad... like if its idling and I give anything more than gradual throttle it'll bog and start to backfire up through the carb, it started bogging when I changed the spark plug so i dunno wtf is wrong with it. Action originally jetted it, but they left the stock pilot jet in, put the adjustable needle, and put a 165 main in it wich is what the instructions says to do to jet for removing the airbox lid... I was like wtf?!?!

yea the gap was correct, I dont remember what it was gapped at though, it was an ngk, same thing that was in it from the factory, part number matched up and whatnot. what is the correct gap? I may as well check it again just to make sure.

I can't think of anything either. Take some brake cleaner and clean it up nice! Get that little tub that comes with the can and put it in every little hole and blow it threw. I jeted mine and it worked perfect. realy gave it some more power. I want to go to the sand again.

Gap is supposed to be .028-.031.

Shoot me a PM with an email or AIM handle and I can send you the '04 service manual.

oh no matt havent you learned with the nitrous yet! lol j/k You can usually get away with about a 20 horse hit with the stock carb if you have it set up right. Most atv nitrous kits plumb a line to the float bowl and pressurize it when you spray so that it forces more fuel through the jets and makes it work like a wet kit.

I got my kit here.

Note, I took my R out a couple wkends ago and broke the front side of 4th gear in my tranny on my 1st day of riding. Not sure I am going to be using it much longer. A ton more money to get the trike to handle it
