My chest grows easy, but I have a pretty weak bench. Oh well its prolly better to have a weak bench and a good chest then the opposite. Some people though, they just bench so much. Theres guys I know that bench more then I do and are much smaller. oh well lol

Id rather stand in front of a mirror and watch me punch myself in the sack, then be oogled at the beach.

I used to lift at the gym at a place I used to work, but I quit there and quit lifting. I go to school full time and work full time and really haven't made time for lifting, although I'd like to after I graduate. Before, I was 17 yrs old 5'9 and 135 and I started benching ~105 on the machine. I worked my way up and was getting ~204 twice (I've heard that's like 150 w/ free weights). I swear I leg pressed 450 once and even took a picture one time, but I lost the picture. I was never much for curling, I repped 35lbs (each arm) about 10 times, but that's about it. When I sat down at the curling station w/ the bar and my arms isolated, I couldn't do much at all...like 60lbs or something...I can't remember since it was like 5 years ago.

I took a weight gainer (NLarge2) and gained 10 lbs, up to 145lbs, but I think that was mostly milk weight because I was drinking like 3 22oz shakes a day and they tasted AWFUL! I'm still the same size, but I'd like to start lifting and bump up to a nice, fit, muscular 170-180, although I know that would be a long term goal unless I cheated and took steroids, which is tempting, but I probably wouldn't do that. We'll see what happens after I graduate. My job requires a lot of lifting, pushing, pulling, etc, so I stay in shape.

Dont take the steroids. Most people dont realize how far they can go jus eating and lifting right and taking the right supplements. It takes longer but itll be all you. Im not against steroids, but I AM against regular people taking them. If your not gonna be competing theres no point. Theres a lot of science behind proper steriod use. Unless your an expert or have the advice of someone that is dont bother. The key point to lifting is dont worry about how strong everone else is, jus worry about how strong you are getting. Continually push yourself.

I have to go back. I used to be able to do a good amount but have since slacked off (school and work kills it for me). After the new year Im definately hitting it hard again, and getting ready for summer. Im right around 180-185 now, about 5'9" - 5'10", so I have a decent starting point!

I don't lift that much at all....maby 5-6 times a month I might go to the gym. I eat decent and ride Dirt bike's and quads alot and that is a good way to stay in shape, I still ride my BMX bike in the summer sometimes (get funny looks riding a bmx at the age of 24) . Go to a boxing class once a week... I snowmobile in the winter and sometimes snowboard when I get the chance. But I was going to start the gym more often this year and I have a good bulky starting point. 5"10, 185-190 lbs

I've been lifting for about 10 months now. I lift about 3-4 times a week and it's very addicting, I love it. I feel like crap when I dont go to the gym...lol. I weighed about 135-140 when I first started, and benched 145, can't really remember the other stats but I got them written down in a weight lifting log that I started but haven't updated in a while...lol. Now I weigh about 160 and bench 265, curl 60 with one arm...there's lots of other's because I do my workouts in splits. Like I do chest and Tri's one day, the next day I do back and abs, next day I do bi's, shoulders, and forearms, and sometimes I do legs. Don't do much legs because my one knee kinda bothers me a bit sometimes. The only supplements I take are creatine and protien after my workout, and a multivitamin and a vitamin C in the mornings. I eat like a pig and it's still tough for me to gain weight...lol. I have a new goal that I'm hoping to be benching 315 by spring.

As for the steriods, I'm completely against them for bodybuilding purposes because people tend to abuse them. It doesn't show any type of natural ability to gain muscle on your own in my opinion. As for medical purposes though, thats a different story. All you have to do is eat right and when you hit the gym hit it hard, and after a while you begin to notice results that you will be proud of and will motivate you to do more and go further.

I don't lift weights....i spend a lot of time hanging out with my friends when they're working on their cars and i'm the floor jack

Seriously though, i used to lift constantly in HS but it got old. Now i have a JOB and a son and that's more workout than you'll ever find in the gym. Plus my job consists of picking up huge 120lb shafts all night and moving around 3-500lb rolls of plastic, so i get plenty of weight lifting. Plus, i'm just not vain enough to work that hard to look good. I stay healthy and that's good enough for me.

Good man

I just started squatting again about a month ago, after a knee injury kept me doing only leg press and hack squats for mostly a year. I'm up to 410 to parallel, and 350 all the way to the floor. Training for 500/parallel within a couple months now that I gots me sea legs back.

slow and easy is the motto I'm forced to use as the yrs stack up...not a heavy squatter these days unless I'm encouraged or the bug bites. Sounds like you're movin along exceptionally well Dave parallel is perfect, being a little old school I still try to plant my spine into the floor but see no real advantage growth or strength wise either way...more just habit.

Oh and Frankie....MIDGET...hey I'm no midget....5 foot SEVEN and five eigths thank you, midgets are under 5'5

I like ass to grass because no one will dare argue the validity of the squat. Outside a sanctioned competition, that's one surefire way to shut people up.

Plus, holding more under parallel translates to being able to hold more weight more easily at parallel. Me likes.

Right now I'm rotating on a ass-to-grass squat/leg press/parallel squat 3-week cycle where that exercise is my MAIN movement, then follow it up with other stuff.
We just hit over a grand on leg press for reps, which of course is more fun than actual bragging rights. I don't much talk about anything other than the big 3 lifts when it comes to this.
