what mods have people tride with out a tune or reflashing to back them up. i know that it was said you should have it flashed or ran on a dyno but has any one verifed that also will they not run or just run even better with them.

also has any 1 ran boost turbo or super charger with just a flash

i did a search nothing that i could find on not flashing or tuning

to run ANY power adder, you will want a tune. without one, you are risking severe damage to your car.

yes, you can still destroy the motor, even with knock sensors. knock sensors cant do everything, they are just an added safety cushion.

lets put it this way: if you have the $ to add boost to your car, then you should have the $400 for a tuner.

No GT yet but I'm already planning the mods. Underdrive pulleys and an aluminum driveshaft don't require a tune.

What would that be worth, 20-30 rwhp?

Another way to look at this is to consider getting a flash tuner a mod. It might as well be your first mod as everything else that you do to the car will require a reflash. There is one CAI (K&N I believe) that advertises no retuing is required. I can tell you from personal experience that a tune is worth every cent. It's fast and easy to do, and really enhances the drivability of the car, even if on other mods are installed.

The Westin Motorsports and Granatelli CAI's also claim they do NOT need a computer reflash to work and give very nice gains in both hp and torque. I know that even though that is possible, I will still get a tuner when I get a CAI since reading on this forum how much better the car performs with just the tuner.
Other than mufflers I have done no other performance mods, but tuner/CAI is definitely next on the list. I'm saving up slowly for them now.

I have run the ZEX nos on mine without a tune, the 75hp ran great. When I went to 100hp it just didn't seem as fast as the 75hp shot, that's why I just ordered a tuner. I also have o/r x-pipes and that turns the engine light on after a day or so, but still runs fine.

The new tuner will take care of the o/r x-pipes but I will have to take it to a dyno for the NOS.

here is something i found on brenspeeds website:
brenspeed.com said:
The system is adjustable from 75 to 175 HP. To determine what level of power is best for you we suggest calling us but it is common to run 75 HP on your stock tune with no issues. We have ran the 75 HP system on our most radical naturally aspirated tune with no ill effects. A good rule of thumb is to remove 1 degree of timing for every 25 HP but that is a safety net. Zex says you do not need to do any modifications to timing at the 75 HP level. We have found that some cars at the 100 HP level and all of them at the 125 HP level will melt the spark plugs with a safe tune. We suggest using a colder spark plug and removing timing at anything over 75 HP. Call us for your custom tuning needs with this nitrous system. We can put together a program for you that will be awesome on the street yet safer when you are ready to "SPRAY" at the higher horsepower levels.
