Looking for a good spot to mount my MSD 6al. I still have a front mount battery, so show me what you got.

sorry man no pic...trouble uploading.
I mounted my battey behind the passenger seat on the floor. My msd box is mounted on the wall where the battery sat in front of. Its a perfect sized flat spot, and more importanly, it probably keeps the coolest there.

Thought about just relocating it (the battery) to the trunk, but would like to find out what others have done.

Here's an alternate mounting from the previous pic. It's a good spot if you have the in fender air kit. There's a bigger pic on my cardomain...PB

thats where mine is as well.. good spot.. covers and can be seen.. shows ya got something under the hood to need that lol

Question: Any issues with wire length? I know from the MSD 6AL I had (for like a week), the wires would not come close to reaching across from that side to the coil. Pretty sure the Crane Hi-6 I have now is the same.

Did you just lengthen the wires? Anyone know if this harms/reduces the power output of the ignition box or delays their responses since they will have further to travel current-wise?

BTW, nice pics everyone of your mounts.

I didn't have any problems with wire length. I did tape them up though to look cleaner...PB

Wire length was exactly the reason why I moved my battery to the inside. I deffinatly did not want to go through splicing and extending igniton wires. I dont know if it would make a huge difference, but my battery was pretty ugly and I figured i might as well kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I got an airtight one, and ran a vent through a hole where the rear seats were. I also have a homemade rear seat delete which hides it all

anyways you can see how i used to have it mounted. when i put the battery in the hatch i just stuck the box in the battery's old spot

I have seen a car that had a hole cut in the inner fender right behind the battery. They mounted the MSD box facing the battery, but flush with the fender. Looked great! Mainly for show, but is was out of the way and the largest part of the heat.

I mounted mine on the tranny tunnel(pass side). I can post pics tomm.

I should have mentioned that I have an HP turbo going on the car. I wish I could mount it on the passenger side front, but the turbo will rest there. Luck13 has a nice install (keeping wireing in mind(, but the crossover and manifold come through the front. Either I have to create anew location or remote mount the battery. For "87 GT" I had a previous car with the tunnel mount. Worked out well, but drove me nuts when I drove. Thanks guys for the help. If anyone else has some suggestions...I'm open to them.
