I don't think my air conditioner is super cold, just okay. That was my thinking from day one. I tested the temperature at an outlet vent shortly after I took delivery. I forget the precise reading, but I think it was a bit under 45 degrees. The acceptable outlet temperature varies depending on heat and humidity. I don't think Ford gives us a table as to what the outlet temperature should be based on temperature and humidity.

Bluecar, yesterday was a real scorcher here and today is not looking much better.

Nother thing I forgot, the outlet air will be a bit colder if you run lower fan speeds. This is because the slower moving air spends more time over the evaporator, thus has more time to pass it's heat into the evaporator.

The A/C is twice as good as the one in my 2002 Impreza WRX. Sounds like whatever tint you're willing to do will help, as will recirculation mode. One thing I pondered doing on my WRX was to wrap the A/C lines in the engine bay with thermal wrap to isolate it from engine bay heat. I bought the stuff but only used it to protect some wires that were really close to the exhaust. I haven't looked at my A/C lines, but even if they don't specifically run by anything hot the engine bay may get too hot.

One of the first things to check, if you're not getting the coolth you want, is that the areas under your front seats are clear for air circulation. Cold air tends to sink and pool on the floor if it can' be pushed or pulled around.

My A/C ('07 GT) would work one day and not the next. I took it to the dealer and they checked it over and found a loose wire in the harness. The way they described it was that one of the pins was not correctly seated in a connector plug and the resulting contact was intermittent. From the way he talked, it didn't seem to be the first one they had seen that way. Works great now.

When you drive faster than 45 MPH, roll down the windows a little with the A/C running so the pressure deviation can suck the hot air out of the cabin. There's a lot of solar load that beats down on the car during the day and the heat tends to stay in the cabin for hours even when you park it in a dark garage.

Yet, another reason why a sunroof SHOULD HAVE been a factory option for the coupes. It can help pull out the hot air when you're moving so the A/C keeps you cool much faster.

Hardly ever use A/C. Most of the time I'm on my ZX-14 with gear on. Now that can get hot. I'm lucky that I don't have a job that requires a siut and tie. But the few times I have used the A/C it has been fine.

Between my old '04 and my current '07 this is some of the best A/C I've had. Plenty powerful and really cool, there's actually been times when I've turned it down because it's been too cold.

My A/C chills my car down within 5 minutes of being on. I actually have to turn the knob to a a little below the red line (9 or 10 o'clock on the dial) or it just gets too cold (and I'm a guy that likes to sleep with it at 68˚ and during the day have the a/c at 73˚)
