any special way to "prime" aeromotive fuel system?

My car has been sitting since last november and I had the fuel rails removed over the winter so the fuel system as no pressure right now. I just got the car back together and am trying to start it and its getting no fuel. My Aeromotive 1000 pump does not come on or anything......

any ideas?

is it hooked up to the stock wiring? on mine i had to turn the key off and on several times since the pump automatically shuts off a few second after the key is turned on if the motor isnt running. i pulled my hair out and then hooked up a pressure guage and saw i wasnt getting fuel.
