As some of you know, I run a team of software developers for a large corporation, and I am looking for a programmer.

I know, it sounds silly, but I am actually having a hard time finding a fit for this job through the usual methods (monster.com, portlandjobfinder, etc). A couple years ago I would have been bombarded with applications.

Anyway, if you posess some or all of the following skills, PM me for more details:

HTML/CSS
PHP Programming
SQL/mySQL
PL/SQL - Oracle
Java/J2EE a plus!
C# / and .net a plus

A college degree is not neccessarily required if you can provide me with samples of good work.

We develop web based software for a call center, (usually on demand). We will be developing client side telephony apps in java in a few months. We also do a lot of monitoring and analysis, its pretty challenging and fun, plus we have a lot of fun on the team. Not your usual uptight anal programming dept.

Let me know!!

My brother is currently in college working towards a degree in something related, and looking for a job over the summer. Do you guys need any interns or the like?

I dont know about internships, I know our legal dept does that, but I've never heard of it in our dept.

But, our department is a great "incubator" meaning a lot of people on the team have used it to prove themselves, and move on to other departments such as engineering and stuff. If he wanted a good place to work while he went thru school, by the time he has a degree he could already be in an engineering position or close to it.

Its a company that is very big on promoting based on merit. You work hard and do good, you'll move. Its one of the reasons I love the company so much.

Thanks for the reply, I'll show him this thread. He knows more about the qualifications you listed and all that... My mind blanks when it comes to programming.

And that was the greatest thing about my time in the military. Being able to work hard and be rewarded for it. Always nice to see those recommendations come down from higher, "promote ahead of peers."

Thanks again,

Thomas
