Just thinking about the new Star Trek movie coming out soon and was wondering if there's any other fans here? I'm looking forward to seeing it myself, glad they're doing something fresh.

Please save the "geek" and "weirdo" comments!! I'll openly admit to those comments and any others you may have!!

I just hope they make the new movie fit with the current Star Trek "universe". I'll probably wait to see it until it comes out on DVD.

I'm definitely a trekkie, but I'm more into the newer series than TOS. I used to be able to tell you exactly which episode of ST: Voyager or TNG that I was watching just by seeing the first five seconds. Seriously.

long time Trek fan here
was a little leery about the new movie.
the story of Romulan's causing trouble has been done to death
but i can deal with it as an excuse to explore the back story of the original crew.
the choice for the young Spock was excellent,Uhura looks hot,Kirk i'll have to wait and see his performance to judge.
not too excited about the young Bones,Scotty,Checkov,or Sulu.

last i seen (old) Spock,he was on Romulus working on a Vulcun/Romulan reunification.

i wonder how that ties in with the new movie?

Seriously though! It looks like it's gonna be a really good movie. I have always been more of an old school Star Trek fan but really enjoyed the other movies. Can't wait!!

I like them all! I grew up with TOS and TNG, then when I was old enough to appreciate it, DS9 and Voyager came out. I recently got the box set of Voyager and watched every single one. The finale really dissapointed me though. I figure I had alot of money invested in the set and a BOAT LOAD of time, all for that crappy ending.

Either way, I'm glad they're keeping it alive with a fresh start. It'll give the younger generations a chance to enjoy the story and it'll probably have them looking at the older series as well.

I could never get into the star trek stuff. However, I saw a preview for it the other day. The new movie looks good.
