I am looking for a wiring schematic for a 87gt. Veryuseful.com only has them for 88-up.

I am specifically looking for where the O2 ground is, I don't see an orange wire that connects to the head like usual.

Thanks.

A lot of good info there, but the schematic was for an 88-91, is an 87 any different?

I am doing some cleaning up of the wires, and I noticed that I don't have the usual orange ground to head.

Is the ground for the O2's on the main harness or the injector harness?

On my '87 5.o, the orange O2 ground wire is attached the firewall. That is the factory location.

Thanks, knowing the previous owners, the wire was probably cut.

Should be pinned out of the injector harness if memory serves...but it's been a while since I messed around with one.

Found it, I cut off all the electrical tape from the O2 harness and there it was, the orange ground cut and taped up.

I always wondered why my car ran rich, lol.

Just as you suspected. The previous owner must have been an Idiot!

yep, but now as I read the wiring diagrams, the wire that was cut was just the low oil level sensor wire.

Still have not found my O2 ground, if anybody has any suggestions, let me know.

The O2 harness wont have a ground wire on it, it goes to both sensors and low oil level after coming off the main harness at the round connector below MAF sensor. It is grounded within main harness along with other wires needing ground (eventually ends at round connector at battery negative terminal)
The injector harness will have an orange ground wire which comes off the harness and connects to a bolt on the rear of the drivers side head. The wire will come out of the injector harness opposite side of the large black and white large round connectors (referred to as salt and pepper shakers) on back of intake.

thanks musttanguy, I did find some wiring diagrams that pointed it to be in the injector harness, just like txstang84 said.

I'm going to have to cut the wire loom and electrical tape from my injector harness to try and find it.
