I need to polish a set of original Boss valve covers. Looking for somebody reliable who's been in business a while. I prefer in Texas but not necessary.
why not just do them yourself, Frank? it's easy enough to do, really. just block sand them real good with progressively finer grades starting with about 400 and ending with 800-1000 grit. then set them up in a bench vise and polish with an electric buffer and some 3m perfect it rubbing compund to start then switch to a stationary buffer (you can use a bench grinder with a buffing wheel, a dedicated buffer motor is not necessary, it is recommended but i've polished the stainless trim on my car with a bench grinder) using more agressive wheels and compounds first like emory compound and a sisal wheel, and finish with jewelers rouge and a loose buff wheel. some felt bob buffs and a die grinder will get into the right areas.
it may sound difficult to do but it's really pretty easy, just takes patience is all.
I just don't have the time, too many other obligations. On top of that, I don't even have the materials needed to get started. To me it makes more sense to get it done elsewhere.

well i can understand that. for me it makes more sense to do it myself since i have more time than money and probably will for the rest of my life......that is to say that as long as i don't lift anything over 20 pounds or sit, stand or walk for more than 30-45 minutes at a time.....i have more time than anything, so i just have to switch between sitting and standing when i work on the cars and make sure i have a helper if i have to change a tire or something.

To the OP, I could get you some recommendations in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area but I don't think it's worth it to ship all the way up here to have that done. If I were you, I'd call up some shops that do finishing or even machine shops and see if they could do it for you.
