So I'm gonna be taking off my rear decklid emblem as I'm sending it to a guy to get airbrushed ( mustang head wreathed in tru blue flames ) and I took a quick look at it last night, looks like it's just on with adhesive? In that case, waxed dental floss and slowly edge it off?

Just checking with folks who have done it before I start.

There is a butt load of double sided tape and 2 huge holes in the middle.

What are the holes for? Screw or bolts in them?

Guide pins, just use a heat gun and fishing line.

Yep, one big circle of two sided adhesive and two alignment pin holes. I just slowly worked under the edge with a library card and the emblem came off and left all the adhesive on the trunk. Since I was covering it back up, I didn't even bother removing the adhesive and then used the screw that was supplied with the SHR cap so I know it's not coming off
Your faux cap sounds like it will be nice when done
