Howdy,
Has anyone removed the quad shocks on their Stang'? Could you tell? I wondered if you could fit a bit more tread in the well without them?

I never noticed a difference removing mine, though some do say they do (few and far between).

Yes, you can fit wider tires without them.

If you don't have aftermarket rear control arms you will notice a difference. Just a tip: You can get away with a wider tire by simply "flipping" the quad shocks around.

I've had mine on and off many times over the last 15 years.
Never noticed a difference. I'd also like to add for those that say they cause wheel hop, that sometimes wheel hop is caused by the tires. My car did it with nitto drag radials very bad, and no other tire ever, including other drag radials.

I have mine off, because my newest bfg 275/35/18 drag radials, measure around 10 inches wide (i have no idea why so wide), and i needed the clearance.

Well..... I do have aftermarket lowers, but stock tops. I'm not sure what the quads are there for anyway, anyone know?

I'd say a whopping 5 pounds maximum.

you can run 275's on 15" wheels with out having to remove the quadra shock right? It comes really close I think.

does anybody have a 275 with a flipped Quad and could offer a pic. I'd like to see how close it comes. I have sportline springs and i'm very close to rubbing.
