I cant decide which setup to go with. I tried searching but found no comparison threads.

The Cobra R fronts are 4 piston brembo calipers, while the Cobra are 2 piston PBR's. Both have 13 inch discs. The rear brakes would be just getting upgraded 11.65 inch rotors with the cobra rear upgrade kit, with either front kit.

So has anybody actually compared the two front brakes. Would it be worth it to pay the extra $500 for the Brembo 4 piston calipers? I am trying to figure out if there is a HUGE noticable difference. My car is a daily driver and only sees the drag strip a few times a year. But i want brakes that slow down hard and fast and have great pedal feel. I read some threads where it said you dont want to big of a difference between the front and rears that make the fronts lock up first and have really bad nose dive before the rears activate. Dont know if there is any truth to that statement or not.

I loved the brakes that used to be on my G35 coupe, you barely had to tap them and they would grab and slow down the car hard and fast no matter what speed i was going. I miss that type of a braking system since i traded it in for my stang.

i would say brembo's but that's my personal choice they do stop the car real good but they only fit with certain wheels that have enough back spacing to clear

Obviously the brembo's would be better, but it all depends on the driving you do.

One-time performance difference you really won't notice much of a difference. The 2-piston PBR's are plenty capable of stopping the car in short distance.

The place where the Brembo's would shine are on a road course type track where you are hard on the brakes time and time again. This is where the 2-pistons would fade away but the 4-pistons would shine. That's the reason Ford put them on it's road-racing inspired Cobra R.

But in the street, you'd be hard pressed to ever really notice a difference. Also you may need 18" wheels to clear the 4-pistons.

I'd stick with the normal Cobra setup up front and do the rear setup as well. $400 for the front and $180 for 4-wheel Cobra disks. More then plenty braking power

WHat year G35 did you have? Was it the early model with the factory Brembos?

I had a 2003.5 G35 coupe, with the brembo's. I really liked that car, it was pretty sharp. It's a shame that you cant get the brembo's any more. Dumbest thing Infiniti did to that car.

This weekend i really noticed that my stock brakes suck arse. I was tweaking my tune and i was out in the middle of no where so i wouldnt run into another car on the road for miles. I was bangin through the gears to make sure i wasnt pinging or anything and then coming to pretty hard stops. Well after just a few times of trying to slow down from high speeds, my brakes were giving up on me. I could feel them struggling. I hated it. Would regular Cobra brakes do more than enough to not fade and stop really quickly over and over like this?

Yes, stock Cobra brakes are pretty damn good brakes. They do not fade like the Gt's

I agree with you about infiniti ditchin the Brembo's. I test drove an '05 6-spd G35 and was shocked when the salesguy told me they stopped putting on the brembos. The car did stop pretty damn well though. I am interested in one as a next car.
