I raced my fathers auto 98 4.6 last weekend with my 5 speed 90 GT.

4.6 stats: Cold air intake, C&L intake manifold, larger throttle body (not sure what size), underdrive pulleys, Ford Racing headers, Flowmaster 40 series mufflers, 327 gears.

5.0 stats: K&N filter, 70mm mass air, 65mm throttle body (I also bored out the manifold to match the throttle body), C&L intake elbo, flowmaster american thunder cat back, BBK h-pipe with high flow cats.

I'm happy to say I beat my father no problem We ran from a couple different speeds (never from a dead stop) and he naver came close to pulling on me.

Also, just as a side note, I beat my fathers 93 cobra as well. I had the same mods as above and the cobra has an 80mm throttle body, cold air intake, BBK shorty headers, BBK h-pipe with high flow cats, and flowmaster american thunder cat back. We raced from a couple different speeds. I walked away from him in a third gear pull (thank you 273 gears) and we were side my side from second at about 25 mph. Either my car is a factory freak or my father can't drive. I think it may be the latter

Mine has gone both ways, took a 99-04 GT from a stop, and with an 05, we ran from 50 mph on the freeway to around 110, first I got the jump and held him at my door till 100 when I let off, then second run, he got the jump and I heldonto his quarter panel till 100 when he started pulling away. I have 3.73s, exhaust, Tri ax shifter, and e fan.

I've taken plenty of 96-98 4.6s. On the freeway I got my ass handed to me by both an 05 GT and a 99 Cobra.

I beat plenty of 5.0's on the street with my 4.6L

Haha, not trying to stir the pot. I've also beaten plenty of 4.6's with my 5.0

From my experience, the 5.0 is better from a stop, but the 4.6L is much better on the highway. I just love the top end charge on my GT.

I walked a blown 96-98 gt with a kit and rims and other lame crap at the 1/8th track one time. His time was pathetic, I can't remember what it was, but it was over at the 60' mark.

I beat a new gt500 at the track too lol. He ran a 9.2-9.4s all night at 84 mph. The old guy was dumb though. He done his burnout in the waterbox, so it got his tires all nice and wet. He started to run me down pretty quick right at the end, but there was no room.

EDIT: Before I get flamed,a decent driven gt500 will walk me, just thought I'd establish that I knew that.

My mods: 3.73, RPM uppter and lower, 351 unported heads, shifter, UCA LCA, full catted exhaust, subframes, and 65MM TB

Kills: 2002 GT with 3.73 rear from dig, as soon as i caught traction in 2nd it was one of those "COME HERE" things.
2000 GT, borla exhaust, fresh motor 0-100, I caught traction early, and at 80 I put it in nutrual, at least 9 lengths on him
2005GT stock. from dig, jumped him of the line (better tires) got into 3rd gear, and shut it down, he was coming.

Beat my dads 03 mach 1 which had 4.10 gears, cobra IRS, MRT catted H pipe, magnaflow catback, CAI, steeda tri-ax, nitto 555s, 275,40,18. It supercharged now so I doubt I could even get close to it lol.
Beat a 99 and 01 cobra both with gears, both on the drag strip, beat an 05 GT and have never lost to a 99-04 GT. Normally when I go to the drag strip theres realy not a lot of mustangs so I realy havn't raced many fast ones.
