Anyone had problems with their trunk latches?

My trunk will not shut and I don't know what the problem is...

It is a 98 Mustang GT. I'm quite confident it is the latcher (the one attached to the trunk)...any tips on how it should work or if this is a common problem?

Did you take it off and not mark it when you put it back on? I had to take mine off before and getting it lined back up was a PITA.

yes. i have the same problem with my 96.
I haven't figured a way to fix it other than getting a new one which sucks because Ford no longer makes them with power so they can be hard to find.

50resto sells them for $65 bucks For power...

I was hoping maybe it is a common thing and I could take it off (mark it) and fix it?

Spring problem?

It just quit shutting and locking...it goes all the way down but won't stay closed So it just flaps...

nope!!!!

The power latches from 99+ will not fit the 96-98's. They are different parts.
The non power ones will work all the way from 94-04 but the powered ones will not!
