I going to buy new vinyl top and rear glass kit from www.50resto.com (LateModel Restoration Supply)

My Stang is built in 06-94 and by 50resto specs i have to get one that are for 94-95 1/2
I was wandering why i can't use top from different year

Here is the link of those convertible tops http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/products.aspx?category=M1CONVTOP

I beleive you can use one from a different year. It looks like they are breaking it down to what is stock for that year. Notice the kit at the bottom that is for 94-04 cars.

I don't know what the differences are, although I think the difference is the material for the 03-04 cobra... not sure what else though.

mine is one of those cloth ones, an electron top cloth top. it was on there when i got it. it is a nice top and all, and i love the material, but the fit is bad.

if the passenger window is all the way up when i close the door, the top of the window catches on the top and the door doesn't close all the way, so i have to put the window down a little before the door closes and then i can put it up again.

i don't know if it is that the top is not right or if whoever installed it screwed up.

anyway, my rear window was from them (i broke mine) and it was fine.

I also ordered my top from 50resto.com
it was white with same material as stock... the make was electron and it's not a bad top. it started to crack in the stress marks where the top folds, nothing outrageous but annoying. i think you'll get that with any top though imo.

it's a pretty good top. 7.5/10

fitting was incredible.
it did not come with instructions, however at the time 50resto had them available in a document that was on their website.
i haven't looked to see if it's still on there or not.

i didn't put it on myself, i got a guy who installs boat stuff to do it, and watched him to most of the work... he loved working with the top.

lemme see if i can do a search on 50resto for that document.
