Personally, I would not buy any seat that is non-Recaro without sitting in it first. IMO, anybody who buys a seat without the ol' buttocks taking a test drive is including a good amount of risk in the equation. The better the seats, the less risk ... but likely the more money to be lost if things turn south. My suggestion is find a seat (eBay or otherwise) with a money-back guarantee along with a high feedback rating. Buy a SINGLE seat. If you like it, install it. If after driving with it for a while you STILL like it, then get the other to complete the pair. If you are not happy initially, send it back being happy that it only costed you the shipping charges to find out. Is this any help to you? Likely "no" ... sorry for that ...

Also, what about some Corbeau GTS II's? They are in the same price range and you get a name (albeit not at a Recaro) that you at least recognize. Justa thought...

I did look in to corbeau GTS2. I do like them, and they aren't that much more from what I'm undertanding. But I can't find any store or website I can get it.
Friend of mine got one of these seat in his car(92 Corvette of all cars ), and I've sat in them, and it is pretty decent seat actually, just that I haven't been riding it for long trip, and his is vinyl.
Tell you what tho. If money is no conceren, Sparco trino with Leather option( ) would be my choice(they are like $1500 without rails)...

this perticuler one had not so great feed back. there are however, 100 other e-bayer that sells these seat. My friend bought one few month back from similer e-bayer but was from Buffro area, had a almost 100%feed back(i think it was like 99.8% or something like that), and he had smooth transaction. Seat quality was decent to say at least. certainly no Sparco or momo, but then your not paying $1000+ eihter.

Are they as safe as the stock seats if you were to get into a wreck? I would not compromise safety for looks and the fact that you are shedding a few lbs. from your stang. Just a thought.

Good pt. - what are the safety standards that we should know about when purchasing seats??
If these are a no go- what are the alternatives for a decent price (less than $300) for each???

yeah, shipping is nearly as much as the price for both seats. That's where he's making his money!
