I have a MSD 6AL box on my 88 LX. Anyone have a problem when your car gets to operating temp and shut the engine off, it won't start back till it cools down? I've had this problem for a bit now, a friend and I went thru everything in the car. Well it turns out when I drove it for a bit, got it warmed up, turned it off, it wouldnt fire up. When I unpluged the MSD box and put the stock harness back on the coil, it would fire right up. Let me know if you've heard of this prob. Thanks!

How close is your ignition box to your engine? If it get's really hot, then yeah, I can see it doing that. That's why a lot of guys mount them ignition boxes inside the car.

MSD 6A & AL's plain and simply put... Suck. They are very old technology and are known for having a tone of reliability issue's. Forget MSD and invest in a good Crane HI-6 Ignition... You just can't beat the quality and performance of Crane Ignition product's.

Do Crane HI-6 cost more than MSD units? They're digital aren't they?

The MSD Digital 6 and Crane HI-6 are about the same price. The HI-6 is better though and yes it is digital.
