Recently my subs stopped playing. I checked the amp and it was on but it wasn't registering anything on its meters (Audiobahn). Well I was planning on cleaning the motor and I noticed that the neg terminal was pretty nasty, so I cleaned it off and the subs worked for a few days. Today I cleaned it again (battery has a slight crack near post) and again the subs worked. The amp is not grounded to the battery for those who might be wondering. Any thoughts?

Check all of your amp connections, not just the hot one for power. Make sure the ground has got a solid connection. Remove the wire and scuff the area with some sandpaper. Also, check your remote wire to make sure it's connected firmly.
