Anyone JetHot coated their cobra intake or otherwise? I'm looking at getting my upper and lower coated. Can anyone give me what this would cost?

I have, and there are gains there, but it's pricey and the $/HP gain are pretty high. They should to coat the inside and outside of all the lower passages, especially the water and EGR passages.

I've never heard of this before. How much horsepower/cost are we talking about. What exactly is a jet-hot coat?

I would just have a body shop clear it with high temp clear. I'm assuming that you just want to keep it clean. Jet hot would probably hurt performance cause you are keeping the heat in and kinda insulating the intake so it cant cool. You can have the upper and lower extrude honed for more performance and better flow

This is what came to mind when i read the post.. maybe jet hot coating the insides of the coolant passages would be beneficial?

Jet-Hot coating would keep the heat out if you did not run hot coolant through the EGR spacer guys - that is why you coat the lower inside and out. MM&FF or 5.0 coated an upper and showed gains a few years back.

They sent me my quote back of $240 for the upper and lower together. Not bad considering how long it would take me to polish out both these pieces.

I, do not. I'm currently asking them to send me some sample metal so that I can compare the finish against some of my polished pieces.

If your just doing it for looks I would just paint it. I've done several and they all still look good. If it were me I would put the $240 towards a better intake instead of trying that.

Yes, but I like the polished look. I'm currently chaging as many pieces as possible in my engine bay to the polished look. Therefore, I'm not very interested in painting it.
