ok, so after the local BM meet up north... we cruise on down to Alki beach... very nice night... we decide to take another cruise up north to Denny's in Kirkland, for a warm place to chat. on the way up, a cop won't let me move over into the 405 north exit lane, and so I stay on 520... he pulls me over (didn't do anything!) ---> it's a "routine" vehicle safty check... whatever the crap that is... "turn on your left signal, right signal, hazard lights, brakes, ok, good... have a safe night." so, now I'm pissed... and on my way to kirkland, decide to pass a few people who look drunk... pop into the carpool lane, hit about 80 on my speedo... notice a car w/o lights get on from the shoulder, "man, I'm screwed".... state patrol.... did you realize you were going 96? "WTF!, I was in 3rd gear!" oh well... can't do anything about it at that time... so, w/i the course of about 15 minutes... pulled over twice! man, what a crappy night! Time to hire my traffic lawyer again I guess

-oh, btw, $372 ticket, and "have a safe trip" - twice! holy crap...

hey brian... you back home now? how was it?

-but the more important question... hows the new vortec thingy working out?

-and yes, I know I need to do something about my driving... but know it's not "aggressive" driving... not doing that, so, maybe something else... not sure yet what it is though if I could afford the insurance, I'd get a saleen... nice 95 supercharged 351 but seriously, I might need to retire to the taurus again for a while

I vote for an S351.. that would solve all your problems

Vortech thingy is workin great, think I might be having spark blow out, so I bought a Boost-a-spark to see if that helps anything.

yeah, but I was doing 80 according to my speedo... not to mention, I don't think I can even do 96 in 3rd gear... if I can, it's way above my power peak. but what can I say... no, I wasn't doing 96, I was doing 80-85 at most! (it's still a ticket! and I can't have any one my record if I want to keep my low insurance )

-even Bill Gates faught his last ticket... he won too (he already had like 5 on his record, and they'd take his licence if he got another speeding ticket )

Jeannie just got me off free and clear on a 90 in a 65 ticket. Her fee is $350. Worth every penny. Good luck!

With 3.08 gears, you'd be just under 5200 RPM ... about where you'd shift a stock 95 GT at the track.

Time to get yourself a GPS and see how accurate your speedo is. "My speedo is wrong" probably won't get you out of many tickets .

whatever man... btw, I shift at 5050-5150... not any higher at the track... my power curve stops at 4900... so really not beneficial...

-and yes, I should test my speedo... but what I meant earlier was I NEVER put my car that high RPM on the road... never (except for that one mistake w/ Kalin.. .6grand... oops )

I definitely saw some aggressive driving during the trips I've made to BM, so I wouldn't really be surprised if Police are extra watchful for Mustangs on Saturday nights in the area.

Words of advice from personal experience, it doesn't take much to put a group of people under a microscope, but it does take a lot to get out from under it.

On the east coast we do a LOT more cruising than around here, and in places where the driving style has gotten out of hand they turn into complete lockdown -- ticket just about everyone for anything just to discourage people from being there. Do yourselves a favor and drive responsibly -- there are plenty of places around here to open the car up and not have to worry about bad stuff happening.

BTW -- I'm not saying I haven't done it, I've done my fair share (maybe even more), but I've learned the hard way about stuff like this.

yeah, I guess if I have to make an excuse (which I hate, I hate all excusses ) is to blame my boss who writes the schedules... she always has me working on Wednesdays nights... so I can't race... and that's what I NEED to keep that monkey off my back... about 20 runs/week for a solid month does me good for about 8 months... then the next 2 are kinda limbo area...

-I've started just setting some good music, setting the cruise control, and relaxing and enjoying the trip pretty much my only option...

BM has calmed down quite a bit, the last few times i have shown up there was 3+cops and just a bunch of streetrods and such. Just a few of the old guys. BUT he was pulled over on 520 which is no where near BM, quite a bit south. Oh well i guess i just miss the good nights.
