I am trying to decide which springs to lower my car with. Does anyone know anything about hotchkis springs and other parts? Are they two stiff for daily driver? Any info is appreciated.
hotchkis makes alot of stuff for muscle cars and from what ive heard of they are pretty good but if your looking to just lower your stang id go with either eibach or h&r
Hotchkis stuff is good quality stuff, & there springs felt pretty good in my 71 Chevelle, but I recommend getting either H&R super sports, or H&R sports for your stang.
The shop I am thinking of having do the work is really trying to push the Hotchkis stuff on me. I am curious why Hotchkis doesn't sell shocks. Are their kits designed to work with the stock shocks or something? The owner says if I don't want the Hotchkis stuff I can quote him some prices on other parts. If he can't match or beat it then he might let me bring in the parts (if I also get the exhaust done through him). I am not really looking to turn it into a road racer. I am more interested in changing the stance and firming up the ride a bit. Thoughts?
As far as I know, Hotchkis designs their suspension components to be used with Bilstein shocks / struts. This question might get more (and more knowledgable) responses in the tech section.

The shop is probably trying to push Hotchkis stuff on you because theyre a Hotchkis vendor. I had this happen to me when i took my car to get an alignment @ a local performance shop. The guy looked at my MM c/c plates & said that he can get me some better ones which where Hotchkis. The MM plates are way better than the Hotchkis.

Sorry EPIKGT (and others), I wasn't insinuating that the talk section is filled with idiots. I'm sure most people browse both sections. I know I do. What I meant was that it seemed more like a tech question to me. As to the "more knowledgeable" part, I was merely referring to my lack of knowledge on the matter, not anyone else's. But in retrospect I agree that it sounded bad.

Dont worry about it man, i was just joking.... Hotchkis does make some good stuff, but there Mustang stuff is mediocre at best. As far as GM musclecar parts, hotchkis is excellent.
If you wanna stay on the cheaper side, not drop your car too much, and keep your DD driving just nice... then i would go with the Pro kit from Eibach.. they give a nice stance, pretty nice ride, and not slammin the car if you didnt wanna do that.. but some H&R's are very nice..
