I took my Map Light apart last night to try and fix it, but I don't think that it comes apart at all. I am getting power to it and into the switch, but after that I lose power. Is there an easy fix for this or not?

You have to drill out the plastic rivets, pull the spring perch off, and put a spacer or different spring to close the switch. The spring loses its ability to close the switch. Then glue it back together. I've done two so far. Good luck.

I took it apart and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the spring at all, but I'm gonna try and put a small spacer in there. Did you just use something like a washer?

I don't believe you. I'll send you mine to see if you can really fix it.

Was it as simple as it sounded? I'd love to have my map light working again also.

Stang it was super simple. I didn't believe it myself. I just drilled the switch apart like Aryan said and put something in there to help the spring get more pressure on the contact points. Funny thing is I actually cut a small piece off a popsicle stick and put it in there for my buddies car and it works perfect now. I put it all back together and just epoxied it so that it would stay. No one will ever see what it looks like on the inside anyway.

Actually if you want you can send it to me. I'll have that thing fixed in 5 minutes, that's including the 3 minutes for the epoxy to harden. That's how easy it really is.
