I have a 95 GT with the aode in it, i have been having big problem since i bought car last september, at WOT or even three quarters throttle it will just rev up and not do anything for like 1 or 2 seconds then jerk, i thought it was tranny had local mechanic check it out he said i was an idiot (wich i am lol), he thought it was a fuel problem so he checked fuel filter and fuel pump and he also checked cats, and found nothing he works on mustangs all of the time and owns a 95 cobra so i trust his work, but he cant figure it out? I took it to transmision speacialist and he said it was a fuel problem too, he said it had nothing to do with tranny OK SO THATS GREAT! but what is it? can anyone help me out?

I dunno it kinda sounds like maybe you need either a better fuel pump or a fuel pressure regulator. I have kinda the same problem sometimes since I installed all of my new mods and the mechanic said that I needed to get a fuel pressure regulator, but I dont really know what I'm talking about.

yea the only thing is tho i dont got **** for mods?, i was told maybe a TPS because when im at idle its reading 1.3 and even at WOT its still reading 1.3, but would that cause car to do that

I think there is an adjustment to the transmission that can cause it to kind of delay like that. You may look into that.

You may also look into the ECT sensor. Mine went bad and created all sorts or problems including some stalling and weird shifting.

*edit* I just started thinking...I wonder if you may have gears and not know it since you just got it not long ago. When I put my 4.10s in it would hit the rev limiter at a decent throttle, cut off for about 2 seconds and then grab a gear real quickly and go. You may want to look into that as well.

may i ask what does ECT sensor stand for? and i think i know the sensor your talking about with tranny the MLP sensor i am going to try that too when i get some money next week for GRADUATION YAY LOL. but yea whats ECT stand for?

Engine Coolant Temperature I believe. I may be off a little though. It is the sensor located just above your thermostat. Looks almost identical to the one midway up your intake tube. Both go bad from time to time especially if they are still stock. They both take part in the air/fuel ratio read by the computer and are both fairly cheap to replace ($15/ea.).

That MLP sensor may be what I'm thinking of. Sounds familiar. I'd definetly look into it.

BTW, congratulations on your graduation!! Enjoy it. You'll be wondering where the heck the time went before you know it.

k i will look into that, and yea this weekend should be fun my parents got 2 kegs so im ready to pump lol. but yea im hopin for some money i might actually sell the stang, if it goes through and buy another 95 on ebay thats supercharged for cheap so we will see what happens, no gurantees tho, IM PRAYING lol

Sometimes the MLPS (Manual Lever Position Sensor) can cause that. I had to replace mine on my 4R70W Thunderbird with a similar problem.

ill check that out, but where can i get one cuz i went to local parts store and they had no clue what i was talking about ? I heard autozone but im 200 miles away from minneapolis so i am not sure what to do?

It's called a nutral sayftey switch for an auto and it's like $20.

transmission range sensor, it happened the same exact thing to my friends 94 with a AODE, drove us nuts.

BJL95Mustang, from what I have learned about that the Neutral Safety Switch, I dont understand how the NSS would cause that problem that red is describing. Do you know the mechanics behind that?

The TPS should read under 1.1V at idle, and near but under 5V at Wide Open Throttle(WOT).

If you are not reading this, your TPS is shot, or installed incorrectly.

Mine read .866 at idle, and 4.66 at WOT.

To install it correctly, remove the IAC valve, then remove the TPS. When you put the TPS back in, (from memory) you turn it clockwise, it will slide all the way in, and you then turn it counter-clockwise to get the 2 bolt holes lined up. When you turn it to line the holes up, you should feel tension (tension from the spring inside the TPS). The TPS should want to turn itself clockwise when you turn it counter-clockwise.

It sounds like you found the problem though. The TPS can be bought at checker/autozone. I had to order mine special order($45). You may have to do the same. But check the installation of your current TPS first.

If it's installed incorrectly, the throttle blade may not be turning the TPS sensor, which means the TPS is fine.

so which one should i try first TPS or MLP? I think i should try the TPS because i know there is something wrong with that because even at WOT it still only reads 1.1v and i know that isnt right but that sensor is alot more expensive than the MLP sensor so which one do you guys think i should try first? thanks for all the help boys

Were do you live? Try to finde someone in your area with an extra tps or if you can borrow one off of thier car and try it out.
