Anyone Police officers?

i remember seeing one on the highway in MA years and years ago. it was also a true blue gt. it looked pretty damn awesome with all the flashy's going crazy, but god, how easy do you think it is for the driver of an unmarked police stang to bait drivers into a quick showdown on the highway, and get bagged for big tickets, probably getting suspended licenses, depending on how aggressive the other driver was.

after i saw that, i became much more police paranoid on the highways.

here in everett, they have 2 police marked dodge chargers. they are sick looking.

Yup, pretty nice looking. I had the pleasure of being paced by one of them for about a mile or down rt16 this past Sat night :)

I'm from Revere. I noticed you had a silver '04 GT that looks a lot like my '03 does. I'll be keeping an eye out. I've never seen any other silver GT's in the area so if you see one it's most likely me

Im in teh popo academy right now. Our starting pay is a little over 31k
EDIT: Just FYI, if your worried about pay then you need to re-think this choice, as this isn't just a job you work 9-5 and collect a paycheck. If thats how you look at it than you'll be "one of those cops". If you get what im sayng.

I will be entering the academy once I can find someone to sponsor my way through it.

That is most definitely true Nightmare, I could care less about what I make, I see becoming a police officer more than just a career, it is a sort of lifestyle change.

My guidance counselors in H.S. and now at college though with my knowledge and SAT scores I could have done something better and made more money, but I chose not to, because I would most rather do something rather than just collect a paycheck and be bored with a 9 to 5 job. I like to experience different things on a daily basis.

Do what im trying to do. get in with the federal govt. for instance im trying to get in with the Border Patrol, and you can get into the 70k paygrade pretty quick with overtime. i have an uncle in right now with a few years under his belt and he is bringing in over 100k a year. look into it

In Modesto CA 35 patrol officers made over 100k last year after overtime and what not. There was a big stink in the papers during the budget crisis. Plus you wont get any more speeding tickets.[/QUOTE]

I would say that you are less likely to get a ticket....but I must say you are definitely LESS likely. I can say from first hand experience. :D

It’s not about the money. It’s about enjoying the job. It has its up’s and down’s…. Right now is a bad time to try and become a cop. There is a lot of people out there and not really a lot of places hiring due to the budgets. One thing that someone once told me that is true and I will never forget. “Don’t get used to anything in this job. If things are going bad they will change and if they are going great they will change.” Meaning if you disagree with your administration or a supervisor or a beat partner those will eventually change. Good luck to whoever is looking to get hired. :nice:
