Anyone run open headers at the track?

I had this crazy idea of getting some of those electric cut-outs welded into my X-pip just after the header connection. That way I could drive to the track, open them up and make my runs. I know on older cars, open headers are worth some power but what about our cars? I'm thinking that after I get my cams installed, the open exhaust would let it breath really well at the track. My only concern is that if I get my car tuned as it is driven on the street, would the open exhaust cause a lean or rich condition that could be harmful?

BTW, I don't have the headers in my mods, but as long as UPS doesn't fail me, I should have a set of Macs and a Trubendz X-pipe early this week.

from experience with other cars (non-mustangs) you'll gain some top end but lose a little torque down low. That could be good on the track if you're having traction problems. Plus if you really wanna scare ricers just open up the cutouts next to them at the light :D
