Anyone running a KB 6psi w/ all stock??

I wanna see what one of these kits can do to , I was about to go this route but decided of the vortech because of $$$ , I would like to see T&J tune one of these to its fullest potential and see what numbers they end up with .

I'm looking at the 6psi Kenny Bell. I don't need any more than 350 RWHP so a 6psi stock gt would work. Does anyone currently run this configuration?

Dude you could easily run the KB 6pis...hell there are people on here running the 9psi...personaly i would just get the 9....its the same thing i believe all u do is change the pulley for more boost. :nice: Either way you'll definetly be happy w/ the outcome but you'll be twice as happy w/ the 9 # pulley

The 9# is intercooled while the 6# isn't. And of course the pulley would be different. The 6# would be simpler (is that a word?) to install, but I installed my s/c so anyone can do it. Go with the s/c that will get you the power that you need/want. :nice:

What pulley you get is your business. The non-intercooled kit is recommended safe @ 6 psi for $3799 & the intercooled kit is $4899 and recommended @ 9 psi. Keep in mind that is with 91 octane gas with Kenne Bell's tune. I would recommend if you have the extra money get the intercooler and still run it between 6-8 psi thats as safe as you can get.

If there is any chance at all that you might want more than 350hp in the future, now would be the best time to go intercooled and be prepared. If you don't intercool now and want more power in the future, it would be alot more effort/risk than just swapping on smaller pulleys. Something to think about anyway. Good luck.

I'm running the 6lb set up (no cooler) 02 GT with 17k miles , I had it on the dynojet today and it ONLY made 303rwhp. The AF is in the 12's(good) timing @24, -ok > I run 93 octane. So far I haven't heard anything from Kenne Bell on why my #'s are so low.

I would get it dyno tuned by T&J and see what Tim can pump out of it , I think you might be surprised at his skills .

That sucks. You should email or call Ken. He is usually pretty good about that stuff. He always wants to know the numbers that KB's kits put out. He isn't satisfied until you are. Maybe they could reburn your chip.

At what RPM are you hitting 303 rwhp? That's is something you should look at. When I first dynoed my car I was very dissapointed...369 rwhp. But the rev limiter kicked in @ 5300 rpm. On the second tune (second chip from KB), it was the speed limiter kicking in at 5650 rpm. With the 3rd tune (also from KB) I made 398 rwhp on the power mode and 418 rwhp on the shootout mode. It's all about the tune. Just call Ken and tell him the results and send him the dyno graph. One more thing, are you letting the car to cool off before doing the dyno pass? If not, that will also contribute to the low hp you are seeing. The KB chip will adjust the spark timing based on ECT and intake temperature. I just got a 4th chip for race only applications and will test it at the dyno next week. It should put me at 430+ rwhp

303 rwhp? Thats got to be wrong. Are the people that did the dyno competent and experienced? I would contact KB immediately and figure out what the problem is. They have great customer service. There is another board that a KB rep gets on to talk online. You might try to contact him on a forum. Someone should be able to help you with a link i just can't remember which board it was from.
