Can't cut them. We tried something similar. As soon as you cut them open, they stop working. At least the ones from NR. Can't be sure about all of um since we only did it to one. I do agree though. That would make the idea more attractive to me...................

I took the stock gauge lens off, on mine that was what was blocking light from getting to the overlays

heres a picture, its a very blurry picture, but the gauges arent blurry in person, also all I got to do is take the bulbs out and replace them with l.e.d.s and the bottom will be blue

I think if you just leave the stock bulbs in they will light up.

I know whatyoumean RC, but problem isn't in light bulbs ,problem is when you driving at night ,there is blue or green everywhere except in those holes at at bottom and on top whereturn signals and high beam are ,looks stupid,do you know what i mean ?

Look at pics at night and you will see what i mean

I did that EXACT thing. Can cut them anyway you want,

EL is okay to cut.

It looks so much better, I couldn't read the symbols at all without cutting them.

Good luck!

I cut out the turn signals and the bottom signals, so only the all of the actual gauges are white. Looks good!

On my REVERSE glow ones, the turn signal part and the warning lights at the bottom dont even light up, so if you WERE gettign reverse glow ones then you could cut them.

Get the EL gauges from SpeedHut. That's where I got mine and they look like the way you want them out of the box.

Slow5.0... How did those gauges work out for you? I have a pair (not same company tho) that my gf got for me about a year ago, and they are tweeking out. The glow comes and fades, pretty much whenever it wants, like there is a bad connection.. anyways, wanted to know how you like them, as I am contemplating replacing mine
