Anyone with a simlar set-up and heads question?

Well, I don't know about power output for your current combination, but I can recommend an excellent place to have your stock heads ported: www.powerheads.com

Someone I run with at the track in my area ran a 5.0 in his '95 GT with a very similar set up (using a Trick Flow Street Heat instead of the Performer) was running 13.2 with 3.73:1 gears and a stock cam.

Hot Rod did a 5.0 buildup in the last few issues, they started with a junkyard 5.0 out of a 90-93 Fox I think. when they put on the RPMII the stock long block it picked up a little over 20hp. At this point they had already added TB, mass air meter, LT headers and a few other things. I think it made about 280-290 at that point. When they put on some RPM heads it picked up about 80hp. BUt dont expect anything close to that with ported stockers! Save your cash and get some good aftermarket aluminum pieces.

Actually, the Powerheads have been shown to match many of the aftermarket pieces and are much cheaper.

Show me some numbers. When I put my E7's on the bench next to my TW's before I put them in, no comparison. Not to mention shedding weight and gaining about 5mpg.

One bad thing about the TW's though, I gotta get my Typhoon lower ported to match the cavernous ports on the heads. Or I might upgrade again to a bigger TFS manifold. If you got ported stockers you could run a small intake manifold and get good results, like with a Performer if you already got one.

The Powerheads have had an increase of $200 a pair since the last time I looked them up, which reduces their savings over a pair of aftermarket heads, but the numbers are still comparable to heads like GT-40Xs, Performer's and other entry level performance heads. On their website they have them compared to a set of Dart Senior heads. You can probably find more info on them at the various magazines online. I do believe they are featured in the July '99 issue of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords.

The Twisted Wedge head is a great head and since you have a pair, you are in great shape, but it doesn't diminish that the Powerheads are a great deal in today's aftermarket marketplace.
