How do you like the Magnaflow Magnapacks? Are they loud and
raspy sounding? What do they sound like at idle? What would they
sound like with a catted X pipe? Are you happy with them?

I got the 'Packs with a Bassani catted X pipe. I luv it. Deep and mean sounding, maybe alittle more mean sounding because I got a 4V, but I'm sure they still sound great on a 2V. No complaints. Just make sure you like the popping sounds the 'Packs make when letting off the gas or pedal to metal. If I had to do it over again, I would just go with the Magnaflow catted X. It's about $100 cheaper than the Bassani but all the quality is still there. I think the Magnaflow X might even sound alittle deeper than the Bassani X. I would'nt trade my set up for anything. Buy it and you won't have to waste anymore money looking for a better sounding system. At idle, nice low burbbly sounding. Sounds good. I think my catback and catted X are plenty loud. I would'nt go with an Off road pipe with the 'Packs. It will sound rediculous with the popping of the 'Packs added in with the O/R pipe.

Yeah I got the packs with a magnaflow catted x-pipe. Yeah aside from the popping sounds the packs make after letting off the gas as said above, it sounds really deep and mean without sounding so obnoxious. I was afraid if I went with the xpipe I would get a higher pitched sound as opposed to the hpipe but I ended up going with the xpipe anyway since it makes more power over the h. I would do it all over again if I had to. The xpipe did not make the exhaust note sound higher pitched at all.

I've had the Packs and Catted X for about 4 years now, first on my '02 GT then swapped them onto my '03 Mach. At idle it's a sweet bassy tone then at WOT all hell breaks loose.

Yeah, i got the magnapack catback and the magna catted x. nice rumble at idle, fairly loud when regular driving and it screams at WOT. downshifting and decellerating it pops and gurgles. some people dont like that, I LOVE it!

the x pipe is what gives them the raspiness.

my cousin just put on an offroad prochamber and the magnapack catback. his prochamber makes it less gurgly and popping. its almost as if the prochamber smooths things out quite a bit and gives it a "smoother" tone. sounds awesome tho and LOUD.

hey no fair. your car has cams

magnapacks are really deep and rumble in the lower rpms and scream in the higher end as most people have already mentioned. the only complaint people have with them is when they get paired up with an offroad midpipe, they tend to get EXTREMELY crackly, raspy and poppy....but i love the sound of it for the most part.

but i agree with BigChiefSmokem, the prochamber (even the offroad version) seems to smooth things out and maintain a lot of tone instead of crackle.

Go for it!
I had my magnapacks with my stock H and loved it. When I added my catted-X it sounded even better. The x-pipe didn't change the pitch, it just made them louder. I get stopped all the time asking what kind of exhaust I have. When you live in a town with nothing but Flowmaster, something that sounds different and better gets you noticed.

I love my packs! I still have my stock H pipe but the sound is much improved over stock. It has the old school muscle car sound. It sets off car alarms in parking garages...

Next year I'll be getting an OR midpipe.

Sorry, no pics... Only of the tips

I never got a reciept from them but they were running a sale, i just told them i was a stangnet member, if i remember right it was something like ********************, the thread might still be up but it was about 1 year ago, ill try to search and find it. I just called them and they said they gave deals to stangnet members because alot of them bought the pack system from them. The price might have changed now though complete exhaust . com that is
