hey guys the 94gt i just recently got has some kind of tranny leak.
the guy told me it was the fiiting leaking because they were cut and replaced with rubber lines well to me they look rigged but working perfectly?
the fluid is all over the cross member and burns off on the egr pipe thing on the mid pipe.(around the cats).

it looks like a smoke show! like i am burning rubber! its embarrassing, it got worse when i added fluid(stupid on my part) but i heard torque converter whine and the line was as smidge low......
the tranny makes some little sounds but shifts fine, its working but i can tell its getting weak! it also will come out of OD and you will just sit there and press the gas and it will rev like its in nuetral. till you put i in third(2nd) and slap it back into (D)

i got a guy who will install a rebuilt aode for 1000.00 and sell it for 750.00. and drop and rerseal and reinstall everything for 400.00 i dont feel like doing it nor have the time, so it going to have to be fixed, cause it looks like the car is on fire when at a stop light!!!!!
but i would hate to pay 400.00 to only find out the tranny goes dead in another 3-5k.....

any ideas what it could be.

its not the rear tranny seal,or the lines,or the pan gasket? whats left thats on teh passenger side, or any other common leaks you guys have experienced.

Try the cheapest 1st. Get a tranny service. New filter, fluid and gasket. See if that does it. And while he's dropping the pan, ask him if he can see where it's leaking from. A tranny service is like 69.00

I have an aod. Fluid starting coming out of the dip stick holder once. It was because the filter was clogged.

Check to see if there's any evidence of fluid coming out of the dip stick.

yeah its good? if the tranny was too full would it come out of a breather, i cant even remebr if my old regular aod had a breather valve?

i will say that steam came out the engine bay today though, and it was on the side of the dipstick tube. so maybe i have clogged filter ay??

What did it smell like? That's the cheapest fix I would try 1st.

The fluid is burnt. Change the filter/gasket and refill with synthetic!

Maybe filter is clogged?

I would, do the filter, fluid & gasket change, then bring it to a specialist for a diagnoses. Also put this in 5.0 tech, there's some knowledge in there that mite help.

I had the same thing happen to the 4l60E that was in my camaro. front seal blew out and that's where all the fluid was gushing out of.
In my experience that's a sign that your car has been flogged pretty hard. I'd start saving for a new tranny or a T5 swap.

yep thats what im thinking they said it was the aode pan but i dont agree,
hopefully it is,
although the converter makes noise and the tranny acts weird when going into overdrive, it pops out and act like its in nuetral????? the guy said there was not metal shavings, but the cost to pull and fix a front seal i mine as well buy a new mustang at least 500-1000 diy...i got a guy who will install a rebuilt for 1000,but its unofficial and at his house etc....about an hour away from me....
i dont want to spend that money and buy a rebuilt aode for 750...

quick question are aode is the same gear ratio, this guy might be selling one out of vic or something causing the car to be like a dog!

I actually have 2 leaks on my AODE right now. One is a leak that is causing fluid to come out of my flywheel access hole. The little rubber grommet towards the front of the transmission. My other leak is towards the tailshaft. I do not get any smoke or anything like that but I do get the drip marks and also the spray across my transmission pan.
