well my AOD has been in my way in the garage for too long and i want to sell it. The previous owner told me it had a bauman valve body, which must be true beacuse that thing shifted like a mo-fo. my question is how to i prove it off the car? when i took the pan off, all i saw was ford mo comanpy stamped on the internals. where is this valve body located so I can take a picture of it to show people?

hey man when you take the pan off and look that is the valve body if its stanped ford motor company (fomoco) then he's full of the brown stuff maybe it has a shift kit but not a valve body...I figure I'd save ya the humiliation :OT: What is with this icon>? isnt this a family site? Lmao

I thought Bauman made only shift kits, not VB's. No way to prove that's in there.

The seperator plate will have enlarged holes in various places. I can send you a photo of a stock VB and you can compare it to the one in there.

But, if the thing was run much, you would have to invest in a gasket if you rip the one you have.

Just sell it.

maybe it is just that set of gaskets...shift kit. he said valve body. Man i'll tell ya, I love shifting gears on my own, but that tranny snapped the tires on shifts. I miss that ****.

No the shift kit involves drilling the Vb seperator plate and putting a hold in one OEM gasket.

I was just saying that if you choose to remove the VB so you can take pics to prove the shift kit was installed - you might have to invest in a new gasket cause they are not exactly reusable aftera a point in there life.

which gasket? the pan gasket or VB gasket? obviously the pan gasket would need to be replaced. I dont even know who would want to buy a used AOD. I'm gonna try selling it for 150 to 200 bucks and if I dont have any luck, I'm taking it apart and rebuilding it just to learn automatics and so i can say its a fresh rebuild and try again.
