Hey guys,
I plan to swap my AOD out of my '89GT and plan to install a T5 in it's place but I want to keep cruise control. Will I loose it if I do the tranny swap? I assume it can be done I just don't know for sure. Will I have to get a different computer too? Thanks.

Not sure, but my cruise doesn't work anymore...I think it was because there was one connector under the dash that I couldn't figure out where to plug it in to.

I still got cruise after my swap (yes I did on my own) on my 1990 LX.
I even used an 1987 T-5 from a GT.
You don't "have too" get a computer but I do recommend it.
I installed a 5-speed computer three years after my swap and it made a difference when shifting.
The RPMs stayed higher in-between shifts.
Which is a good thing.
Cost me $50 bucks at a salvage yard.

The cruse control is separate from the computer and transmission type. It runns off the VSS sensor that serves as the carrier for the speedo pickup gear. Make sure you have the VSS sensor and the wiring to connect it to the body harness. That will get you working if you have wired up the clutch & brake pedal properly.
