I was actually going to buy the lmr one awhile back but it was out of stock. Thank god lol.

Honestly, If I had purchased it from them I would have returned it, and I'm sure they would have made it right. Sometimes it's hard to beat OEM stuff. I'm just SO glad that's all it was.

UPDATE It was the index plate. Pulled the transmission back out, found an original Ford plate I forgot I had. Compared to the OEM plate, the hole for the starter was about .055 closer to the flywheel. I installed the transmission with the Ford plate, problem solved.

Hey man I'm having the exact same issue. I DEFINITELY do not want to pull everything just to replace that plate. Did you take any side by side photos of the index/ guard plate or whatever its called? I'm thinking maybe I can alter it somehow to fit...
