I have a 95 GT that just has over a 100,000 miles on it with an automatic tranny and last night my AODE did not want to shift into any gears. Anyone know what could cause that? I checked the tranny fluid the other day and it seemed fine. I do have a small leak in the tranny drain plug but nothing major. Any suggestions would be great...

Sounds like it's slipping, a bad drum or a bad converter. Does it make any sounds or does it shift once it's warmed up? If it's ever overheated, the clutches and bands can burn up and cause this problem.

I had the converter replaced with an oem about 2 or 3 years ago. It does not make any sounds and it was not shifting after it was warmed up. It is causing my temp gauge to overheat. If it is a bad drum, or the cluthes and bands, how much would it be to fix any of those problems?

Solnoid pac

Inside your tranny is a solinoid (sp?) pac, this controls 1st & 2nd ( drum/clutch controls the OD (at least I understand it does) Since you've overheated because it wasn't shifting the bands to break down and will eventully gum up the tranny with a sand like material. However you may also want to pin out the harness to ensure you haven't got a broken wire (mine had a break in it (but wasn't noticable until we pinned out the connector. I'd check the harness 1st (least expensive option) then check the pac before dropping the tranny out, BTW iyou'll know if the bands have broken down as the material will show up in the tranny pan.

Good luck, been there & done that! but mine was under warrenty thank god!
