AODE still leaking. I am out of ideas. Help!

UPDATE,

I tried to re-seal the pan with red gasket maker RTV and guess what........
The rear of the pan in the middle is leaking.

This have got to be the leak from HELL!

Make sure the pan is the only spot it's leaking from.I just pulled my AODE out and it was leaking from everywhere.On mine the pan was leaking and the rear seal and the speedo sensor and the where the tail bolts onto the main body was also leaking!!!!Do what I did and swapp a 5 speed in Problem solved!!!

Maybe you should take it in to a trans shop for one of those free estimates and see what they say.

Did you check the tailshaft gasket and the tailshaft itself? Like I said before, I swore I had a pan problem but it turned out to be a tailshaft problem. If the fluid is leaking high enough, it can run all over the place.

Also, do you have any stripped out bolt holes on the pan? The holes have aluminum inserts that are *very* easily stripped. I had to helicoil (sp?) a couple of mine.

If you do it yourself you could do it for like $2500.With a good set of basic tools it pretty easy to do.I'm taking my time and workin on a bunch of other stuff so I'm goin on week 2 but from what I've read if you work hard and have a helper you could do it in a weekend.

Stripped the pan holes? There aren't any inserts on the pan.

UPDATE:

I have replaced the pan with a B&M cast alum pan. Very nice item and very strong. Came with a drain plug and holds 3 more quarts.

However, she is still leaking.

I belive the leak is coming from the rear right corner bolt hole and the front driver corner bolt hole.

Does anyone think either teflon paste or Lockite thread sealer would seal the bolt holes?

I would say to try it.

Are you positive that is what it is? Have you checked the o-ring on the dipstick tube yet?

The only way the bolts could be leaking is if the tranny case was cracked. The bolt holes go traight through to the other side of the case. On the pass side front there is the dipstick. Is it in all of the way? Is the o-ring in good shape? On the pass side rear there is the electrecial connector. Is it seated right and is the o-ring there ok? It's probably one of those things thats leaking.

LALALALALALA.... I didn't hear any of this. Mine doesn't leak, and I didn't want to see a common problem with the AODE.

You are incorrect. Several of the pan bolts go into the case. Not all of them go straight threw to the other side.

I put Locite thread sealer on the bolts and torqued them down to 120 inch lbs. I let the car sit all day to make sure they seal.

I am gonna test drive in the morning.

Go to the parts store, buy a pack of o-rings for a few bucks, and replace the orings on the dipstick, speed sensor, and any other connections that go into the transmission. It's not that much trouble and it will rule out a few other things...

I'm going with bjl95 in saying that the bolts shouldnt leak. If it was leaking from the pan, it would be from the gasket. there isnt any reason that the bolts themselves would be causing a leak.

I bought my gaskets from Ford. I'm sure most auto parts stores will have them.

Tailshaft for me, and all the leaks on mine where the same as the original poster.
When it started leaking I used a cork gasket twice, then I used a rubber one from napa. Those did not solve the problem.

I't gonna be the tailshaft.
