Well i'm getting tired of driving with od off cuz my od is shot on my aode. It slips alot when i am just cruising in od. So this leads me to my question, I found this ad on craigslist. http://detroit.craigslist.org/pts/390026711.html Will this 83 fit in my 94 w/o any major mods. Will I also need a 5speed computer too?

I believe youll need to switch to a 5spd PCM or get a chip because the PCM controls the AODE and might go berserk if you take it away. Might cause driveability issues.

That setup won't do you much good. The clutch pedal assy will not work (that I know of) in 94/95 cars. Also, that 83 trans is a non world class I believe, so it's much weaker and prone to breakage than the later world class T5's. Also, you won't get the correct shifter bezel/boot for your car. Might want to keep searching.

Not sure where you are located but I have my AODE from where I did the swap if you're interested? I'm right outside of Louisville KY. if that would be close maybe we could work something out ? If so just PM me!

Yes, the 94/95 pedal assembly is different from the fox style!!

i also have a good aode that i will sell you if you need it. if you wanna do the swap to the t-5 i can give u a list of parts to get that will make the swap go smoothly.

Well I found another t5 that came out of a 90 lx and it is a world class..... http://detroit.craigslist.org/pts/390083455.html
Could i use that bellhousing and then get a 3/8 spacer and a sn95 pedal assembly and t5 computer?

i had an aode in my car before i did the swap. i did plenty of research on the swap before i did it as my car is my only mode of transportation so i wanted to make damn sure i had absolutely everything to do it.

the parts i bought used:

94-95 t-5 and bellhousing
t4mo computer
t-5 wiring harness- big square plug on passenger side on firewall near ac lines
94-98 pedals
upper and lower shift boots

parts i bought new

clutch cable ( recommend non adjustable from maximum motorsports)
firewall adjuster and clutch quadrant
flywheel and clutch ( proper bolts and dowel for press plate)
clutch fork and pivot ball in bellhousing
mercon tranny fluid for trans i believe it takes 3.5 or 3.6 quarts

i got the computer on ebay. the t-5 harness came from mpsautosalvage.com they also sell the kit as a whole but i spent about 2 months gathering the parts and saved about 400 bucks. you may need to change the tranny yoke on the driveshaft if you get a vibration. i personally got lucky and didnt have to change it. the swap is fairly simple. with air tools i did it in a day on the ground.

you will have to remove about 1.5 inches on the front of the hole for the shifter to come through. i used some tin snips and it did a good job.

i believe i spent about 1200 bucks on everything. i gathered parts for about 2 months though. i found the tranny on corral.net in the classifieds. you could probably find most of the parts on this site in the classifieds section. i also bought parts from ebay.

I did a conversion for a buddy for like 500 bucks, but he used a 4cyl T5. He beats the car some and it holds up nicely! I know it won't last forever, but it's a solution to get the job done on the cheap.

they say that a fox t5 will work but 94-95 t5s are easy enough to find. i would wait and find the 94-95 t5 cause i bet it will avoid possible headaches in the future.

FastGT I should have asked you this before I posted a seperate topic. Will the clutch pedal assembly out of any SN95 work? I have a line on one from a 96 Cobra and just want to make sure it works. Got the PCM today already.

it should work. i got mine from ebay. i dont know what year car it came off but worked fine.
