Are 98 OEM Cobra rims Aluminum?

I just picked some up, and im surprised how light they are so was just curious.

They should be aluminum, but possibly magnesium? My Y2K R wheels are heavy as hell

They are not Magnesium. I'm not aware of any Car Makers (since the 60's, when they were tried) using Magnesium wheels on PRODUCTION cars. They do pose a fire hazard, and magnesium is expensize for a street car.
There may be some out there, but definitly NOT a '98 Cobra.
They are likely an "alloy", meaning a composite of different types of metals.

ic, becuz they are really light, and im surprised at how light. I think imma go weigh them so i can compare when i take the stock wheels off

the 99/01 cobra wheels are aluminum, I know that for a fact.

I think all wheels from 94-present are Aluminum (except for a few cars in 94/95 that made it through with steel/hubcap wheels)

the stock rims are pretty light if i remember correctly.....my 16" waffles were. Also, my 18" 03' cobras suprised me on how light they are.

your Saleens came with Magnesium Wheels and So did some of your C5 Corvettes. Alot of your Exotic cars do also.

But to answer the question the 98 Cobra wheels are Aluminum. All 94+ are minus the V6's in 94-95 With the hubcap wheels like someone mentioned.

??? I'm not sure I follow you.. Cobra's didn't come with steel wheels

oh i figured they did, they feel really heavy, but i dont remember them without tires, so well hafta see
