When my foot is on the gas I can hear a howling/moaning sound which sometimes its low and sometimes the howling is real loud, speed doesnt matter really. It's coming from the back, I assume it might be the fuel pump b/c it only makes the sound when my foo tis on the gas. Are stock fuel pumps suppose to be loud or low or inaudible? Is it dying? How expensive are they?

my stock pump was loud, but it made a whining sound, not howling... You said you're foot has to be on the gas... Do you have aftermarket gears or stock ones still in?

My stock pump was really loud. My 190lph aftermarket pump is dead silent though, however, my T-rex screams.

My fuel pump is loud but I hear it the same whenever it is runnng. Start teh car and walk around the back, if it si the fuel pump you will hear it and it will prob get a little louder with undera half tank vs a full tank. I know mine does.

Now if it is only while you are driving you may have a wiped bearing or bad gear install. I am getting pretty familliar with these symptoms as some Jack off has been working on my car and scrooging it up...

My stock one was whinned.... then I put in a 190 and it was quiet for a week. Then it started whinning just like the one I took out.

I have louder exhaust now... so it's not as noticable. My suggestion is to always drive faster than the speed of sound. That way the noise will never make it to the drivers seat.

Mine whines, but I can only hear it if I'm standing by my rear-end.
